Investigators say a 50-year-old Shelton man was under the influence when he crashed into an oncoming car, injuring himself and two others Wednesday.
Martin L. Chappell was driving a 1988 Subaru station wagon north on Highland Road six miles west of Shelton at 4:30 p.m. when he allegedly crossed the center line, hitting the front passenger side of a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver of the Tahoe, Daryl L. Horne, 18, of Olympia, was driving south and pulled to the left to avoid colliding with the station wagon.
Chappell was taken to Harrison Medical Center, in Bremerton, with injuries.
Horne was injured, but not transported. Horne's passenger, Scott T. Jeffries, 49, of Shelton was also injured and taken to Harrison Medical Center.
Chappell is being accused of vehicular assault.
