Mid-Columbia Earth Month contest runs through April 8

The Mid-Columbia Earth Month essay and video contest for kids in kindergarten through high school runs through April 8.

The theme is "Focusing our Energy on the Future." Cash prizes will be awarded based on the best use of theme, educational value, creativity and clarity, a news release said. The public will be able to vote on a fan favorite. The winner will be announced April 22, which is National Earth Day.
