Crime Stoppers seeks man on drug charges

Benton County Sheriff's Office and Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers are looking for Wesley James Weyand II, who's wanted for possessing heroin.

Weyand, 45, is about 5-foot-10, has brown hair and weighs about 240 pounds. He most recently lived in Pasco.

He has tattoos on his right shoulder, right leg, face, right knee, chest, upper right arm, upper left arm, left forearm, left hand and a finger.

He also goes by Kyle Wesley, James Weyand, W. Weyand, James Weyland, Wesley Weyland, Wesley Weylnad and James Whitmore.

Anyone with information can call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 586-8477 or go to www.tricitiescrimestoppers. org. Tips also can be sent by text message by writing "Text TIP 411" plus the message to CRIMES (274637).

Crime Stoppers pays a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that results in a felony arrest. All calls are confidential.

    Here's how police described the incident:

    A 22-year-old man was driving a blue Ford Escort south over the cable bridge into Kennewick about 9:30 a.m. He tried to change lanes as he neared the intersection of Highway 397 and East Bruneau Avenue and inadvertently cut off another car, described as a dark green '90s four-door Ford Contour. Two men were inside.

  • Cinnabon worker reportedly robbed at Mall

    A Cinnabon employee reportedly was assaulted and robbed while in a back hallway of Columbia Center mall Friday on her way to make a bank deposit for the business.

    The attack happened just after noon, according to a release from the Kennewick Police Department. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

    The victim was treated for unknown injuries at Kennewick General Hospital.

  • Crime Stoppers tipsters give aid to police

    Ninety-nine criminals were arrested in 2012 thanks to tips made to Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers.

    Tipsters helped law enforcement officers identify an unknown suspects often caught on store surveillance footage stealing goods or using someone else's credit cards.

    They also provided information on wanted fugitives so cops could track them down and put them in jail.
