The Washington State Patrol is looking for anyone who might have seen a police pursuit that ended Monday night in a crash on Interstate 5 near Port of Tacoma Road.

Auburn police chased a stolen Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the southbound lanes of I-5 from just south of Federal Way until the driver lost control of the car just south of Port of Tacoma Road.

The car swerved, crossed all lanes and went into the median, where it hit the cable barrier, the State Patrol reported.

The driver and a passenger were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the car. They were listed in serious condition after the wreck, which occurred about 11:40 p.m.

Witnesses can call patrol detectives Jerry Cooper at 360-805-1192 or Mike Bassett at 253-538-3170.
