The handwritten sheet was labeled “kill list.” It included the names of 10 students at Eatonville Middle School.

The discovery sparked a flurry of activity Friday. Police detained a student at the school and transported him to Remann Hall in Tacoma. School officials emergency-expelled the student, according to a recorded phone message from Principal Ken Andersen to parents.

Andersen said that school officials spoke directly to the parents of the 10 students named in the letter, and emphasized that the expelled student had been removed from the school environment until further notice.

“Therefore, there is not a threat to the EMS student body,” Andersen’s message stated. “I want to assure you that every precaution has been taken to ensure your students’ safety.”

Andersen also warned against discussing the matter on Facebook, Twitter and other social-media sites. However, parents were holding heated discussions Friday evening on Facebook

Eatonville Mayor Ray Harper, who’s also spokesman for the Police Department, said officers took a student to Remann Hall on Friday, but he declined to provide further details.
