TRACKING LOCAL GOLFERS ON THE PGA TOUR
This week: AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, through Sunday, Pebble Beach, Spyglass GC and Monterey Peninsula CC, Pebble Beach, Calif.
In the field: Tacoma’s Troy Kelly and Olympia’s Andres Gonzales.
Second-round scores: Kelly shot a 2-under-par 68, and Gonzales had a 4-over 74. Both played at Monterey Peninsula CC.
Positions: Kelly (1-under 141) is tied for 56th, and Gonzales (9-over 151) is tied for 149th — both trailing co-leaders Ted Potter Jr. and Brandt Snedeker (8-under 134).
Recap: The rain did not stick around for very long Friday, but a piercing wind and temperatures in the upper 40s made the rounds long and the course longer. Kelly’s game is slowly starting to show signs of emerging. He made just one bogey and had a pair of final-nine birdies (Nos. 3 and 6) to move inside the cut line. … After struggling to a 77 on Thursday, Gonzales had two more double bogeys in his round Friday. The good news is he is faring better in the professional draw (149th) than in the pro-am draw (dead last at 154th).
Tee times today: Kelly at 8:33 a.m. and Gonzales at 9:17 a.m., both off the No. 1 tee at Spyglass GC.
