Constance Sidles will share some essays from her newest collection as she talks about birding the Montlake Fill in Seattle at Thursday’s meeting of the Black Hills Audubon Society.
Sidles is a master birder and board member of Seattle Audubon. She received her degree in Egyptology from the University of Chicago and has written or edited 18 books and more than 700 articles.
In her newest collection of essays, she writes about the relationship of human nature to wild nature. She will introduce attendees to the birds she finds every day at the fill, including a loud kingfisher, the fierce red-tailed hawk and a most elusive Virginia rail.
Social hour begins at 7 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 701 Franklin St. SE, Olympia.
