Joe Stohr, deputy director with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, will be the guest speaker at the Feb. 27 meeting of the Olympic chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Stohr will have a slide presentation and will cover up-to-date information on new issues and programs concerning Washington’s fisheries resources.
The Yakima native will address plans directed by the State Legislature, Fish and Wildlife Commission-sponsored programs and new programs being carried forward from 2012. He will also talk about the budget issues.
Stohr has a bachelor of science degree in fisheries and master of science degree in health physics-radiological sciences from the University of Washington. He spent the early part of his career with State Department of Health and Department of Ecology. He has been the deputy director at Fish and Wildlife since 2007.
Light refreshments will be provided and all attending can participate in a fishing equipment raffle.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at North Olympia Fire Station, 5046 Boston Harbor Road NE, Olympia.
