The 2013 Seabreeze Walking Festival is coming Saturday-Feb. 18, featuring six walks and a bike ride in and around Ocean Shores.

The third annual Capital Volkssport Club event features noncompetitive events that will take participants along various beaches, through current and former state parks and through various communities.

The headquarters for the weekend is the Ocean Shores Lions Club, 832 Ocean Shores Blvd. NW.

The events are:

Ocean Shores beach walk: 6K or 11K, rated 1C (fairly flat but on somewhat difficult terrain). Walk along the beach side of Point Brown at Ocean Shores. This walk is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Ocean Shores bayside walk: 6K, 11K or 20K, rated 1A (flat and mostly on pavement). Walk along the bay side of Point Brown, with views of Mount Rainier and the Olympics if the weather allows. The 20K walk returns to the start point via the beach. Only the 6K and 11K walks are suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Damon Point walk: 5K, 7K or 10K, rated 1C. This area was formerly part of Damon Point State Park, before the ocean took some of it back. Walk along the beach and through the marshes of the Point. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Moclips walk: 5K or 10K, rated 1C. Walk from Moclips to Pacific Beach State Park, through the town of Pacific Beach (10K route only), and back to Moclips along the more rugged and rocky North Beach. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Griffiths-Priday State Park walk: 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K or 30K, rated 2C (some moderate hills and on somewhat difficult terrain). Walk along paths through the dunes in Griffiths-Priday State Park, and out to a remote beach situated between Conner Creek and the Copalis River. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Roosevelt Beach walk: 5K, 7K or 10K, rated 2C. This new walk goes below the high bluffs at this beach. Climb the stairs up the bluff to the village of Seabrook to enjoy the views. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Point Brown bike ride: 25K or 30K, rated 1A. Bike the perimeter of the Point Brown peninsula, and back up the middle to the start point.

Walkers can begin any time between 8 a.m.-1 p.m. each day, and must be finished by 5 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 17, or by 3 p.m. Feb. 18.
