State Reps. Jan Angel, R-Port Orchard, and Linda Kochmar, R-Federal Way, propose renaming the Tacoma Narrows Bridge under HB 1051 in order to help alleviate tolls.
An article even suggested the Taco Bell Narrows Bridge. Yes, Taco Bell Narrows Bridge!
Here’s my idea, and we won’t have to sell our soul to the company store, as suggested. Let’s rename it the Gig Harbor Peninsula Narrows Bridge for those who actually pay the largest percentage of costs.
Or, we leave it named the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and Tacoma starts to pay for the use of its city’s name on the bridge we on the peninsula pay for.
Since my proposal won’t fly, let’s also keep grounded this mindset that some large corporation will bail us out.
