WALLA WALLA -- The bond proposal to modernize Walla Walla High School received 53 percent approval Tuesday night, failing to meet the required 60 percent supermajority needed to pass.
The Walla Walla School Board agreed this fall to seek a $48 million bond to update facilities at Walla Walla High School, primarily academic spaces, but also some for career and technical education, the arts and athletics.
Walla Walla School District Superintendent Mick Miller in a press release thanked staff, parents, students and community volunteers for helping inform the community about the proposal.
No decisions have been made regarding future bond proposals, the release said.
