A barn on the Thurston County Fairgrounds used for RV storage burned early this morning, according to Lacey Fire District Three.

Lacey firefighters were called to Carpenter Road Southeast and Stanfield Road Southeast about 1 a.m. after a passerby reported seeing “lots of smoke” showing from the barn. Crews said they arrived six minutes later and found a 50 by 50 foot open-sided barn fully engulfed.

    An electrical problem sparked the blaze, causing an estimated $100,000 damage. It was the first time the homeowner had used the heater this year.
