According to unofficial Pierce County Auditor results, the Puyallup School District $279.6 million bond measure failed to meet the 60 percent supermajority of yes votes required to pass.
As of Tuesday night results, the bond received 12,888 yes votes or 54.49 percent to 10,765 no votes or 45.51 percent.
The measure failed with less than 6 percent short of the required 60 percent supermajority.
Puyallup School District Board Director Greg Heath said that the school board will now look at next steps.
