Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius has reportedly been arrested after a 30-year-old woman was shot dead at his home in Pretoria, South Africa.

Multiple reports have the double-amputee known as "Blade Runner" being taken into custody after the Thursday shooting.

The woman fatally wounded is believed to be the 26-year-old Pistorius' girlfriend. The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear, but he may have mistaken the victim for a burglar.

Pistorius made history at the London Olympics last year when he became the first double-amputee runner to compete in the Games.
