Residents and bridge users are invited to learn more about proposed toll rates for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge when the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meets Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview St., Gig Harbor.

During Tuesday’s meeting, from 6 to 8 p.m., the committee will review the funding needs for the bridge and consider rate scenarios to make a new toll rate recommendation to the Washington State Transportation Commission. The committee will accept public comments during the meeting.

If the committee is unable to make a recommendation at the Feb. 19 meeting, an additional meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Gig Harbor Civic Center. The CAC will present their final recommendation to the Washington State Transportation Commission in March.

At previous meetings in late 2012 and early 2013, the Washington State Department of Transportation presented the financial plan for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge account as well as traffic and revenue forecasts for the initial rate scenarios. Materials from each of the previous meetings are available online.

Those unable to attend a meeting may submit comments or questions to the committee online or by mail to: Tacoma Narrows Bridge CAC, WSDOT Toll Division, 401 2nd Ave. S., Suite 300, Seattle, WA 98104.

The CAC is a governor-appointed, nine-member committee tasked to make toll rate recommendations to the Washington State Transportation Commission.
