Tacoma police on Friday were investigating an early-morning shooting that seriously wounded one man.
The shooting occurred about 1:20 a.m. at a gas station in the 8200 block of South Hosmer Street where two women were fighting and a man stepped in to break them up, police said.
Then another man drove up. The victim “was trying to physically stop them from fighting when the guy got out of another car and started shooting at him,” police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.
The shooter kept firing even as the victim tried to run away, police said.
He was listed in serious condition at the hospital and was expected to survive. Nobody was arrested.
