West Richland police arrested a driver Sunday morning after he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver at the intersection of Bombing Range Road and Van Giesen Street.
Stuart McKenzie, 31, unknown address, is being held in the Benton County Jail on investigation of second-degree assault in connection with the incident that happened between 8 and 9 a.m., said Sgt. Duane Olsen.
The victim, whose name was not released, called police saying a driver in a black Toyota Tundra with a temporary license tag had brandished a gun as they were driving.
Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff's Office and Richland police officers helped search for the SUV, which was found in a driveway near the intersection of Jamison and 58th streets, said Olsen.
He said McKenzie saw the officers and walked out of a house a few doors down from where the truck was parked and was arrested. He told police he was staying at the house with relatives.
After getting a search warrant, officers seized a handgun, said Olsen.
