Hes gone from the Tribal Council to General Counsel
Gov. Jay Inslees new lawyer, Nicholas Brown, is a former contestant on the show Survivor.
The 1995 Steilacoom High graduate joined the reality show in its second season in 2001, lasting through 10 episodes in Australia before the other castaways voted him off the island.
Afterward, Brown did some modeling and enjoyed some brief hey-arent-you-that-guy fame. (He also received a call from Playgirl magazine, according to a TNT story, but he turned them down. And he was a contestant on Hollywood Squares, according to this Survivor Wiki page on him.) For most Survivor contestants, that might have been the extent of their time in public life.
But since filming the show in 2000, Brown got his Harvard law degree, worked as a JAG attorney for the U.S. Army and served in Iraq in 2005. And since 2007, he has worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in Seattle under Jenny Durkan trying terrorism and violent-crimes cases.
Inslee named Brown his offices general counsel today, replacing Narda Pierce.
Nick is taking on one of the most important jobs in my office, Inslee said in a statement. His legal skills and expertise are impressive. Hell be an outstanding addition to our team.
