U.S. Representative-elect Derek Kilmer today announced his first three staff hires. Jonathan Smith will serve as his Chief of Staff, Meadow Johnson will be his District Director, and Joe Dacca will work as his Deputy District Director.
After officially joining Congress last week, Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, is already back in the region and kicking off a month-long listening tour to solicit input on important issues from members of the community. While home this week, Kilmer will have a full schedule including meeting with local military and small business leaders.
After learning that he would rank 382nd in seniority in the new U.S. House of Representatives, Democratic Rep. Denny Heck of Olympia did a quick calculation to figure out where he stands as a rookie on Capitol Hill.
