BELLINGHAM - People interested in learning about the Idle No More movement can attend a teach-in Saturday, Feb. 23, at Garden Street United Methodist Church.
Idle No More is a Canadian-based movement mostly in protest to what members see as the Canadian government eroding tribal rights and watering down environmental regulations. Backers of the movement say the government's changes will affect the environment in America.
The event is noon to 3 p.m. at 1326 N. Garden St., Annex room A, with guest speaker Roderick Harris, a member of the Nooksack tribe.
More information can be found on the Facebook page of Bellingham Idle No More Teach In or at idlenomore.ca.
