The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate a shooting Tuesday night that sent a man to the hospital.

The man, who's about 60 years old and lives in Kennewick, was shot at least once in the torso while driving on Pasco Kahlotus Road, said sheriff's Det. Jason Nunez.

The man told authorities that "people began to shoot at him and chased him" in two pickups, Nunez said.

At first it appeared the incident might have been random, but now authorities aren't sure, Nunez said. He said the shooting isn't believed to be gang-related.

The sheriff's office was alerted to the shooting by one of the man's relatives. Deputies used cell tower information to locate the man, who was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Nunez didn't release the man's name.
