The robber watched the elderly woman win a $2,000 jackpot at a Fife casino and followed her outside.

As she tried to get into the passenger seat of her daughter’s car, the man grabbed her purse and yanked. The woman, in her 80s, hurt the back of her head, left arm and shoulder before finally letting go of her purse.

The victim identified her attacker in a photo montage. Pierce County prosecutors have charged the 25-year-old man with first-degree robbery in the Feb. 8 attack.

“The victim stated at one point in the casino she felt sorry for the defendant and she thought about giving him money for a meal,” according to charging papers.

A warrant is being sought for the man’s arrest.
