According to a press release by the Department of Transportation, all lanes northbound on state Route 99 are closed between South Nevada Street and South Royal Brougham Way and southbound between the Battery Street tunnel and South Nevada Street located just south of the West Seattle Bridge.
Both directions are expected to reopen Monday at 5 a.m.
The closures are needed to reconfigure traffic and prepare for demolition and reconstruction of a 450-foot elevated section located south of South Spokane Street.
The ramp from the West Seattle Bridge to northbound SR 99 is open. The northbound off-ramp to East Marginal Way South and the lower West Seattle Bridge also remains open.
