KENNEWICK -- Two Kennewick police officers were taken to a hospital Saturday afternoon after a man they were attempting to arrest became violent.
Officers were called to the area of Fourth Avenue and Villa Street late in the morning after getting reports that Cory Lane Bromley, 36, was walking around wearing only shorts and hitting himself, Cpl. Matt Newton told the Herald.
Bromley refused to speak with the officers or go with them. Since he was not violating any laws, he was allowed to go on. It wasn't until about noon that officers learned Bromley had an outstanding warrant, Newton said.
Officers found Bromley in the 3200 block of West Fourth Avenue, but he fought the officers who approached him. All three received unspecified injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Bromley later was discharged and booked into the Benton County jail under suspicion of third-degree assault, resisting arrest and on his outstanding warrant.
Newton said the two officers did not have serious injuries and also were discharged later Saturday.
