Kennewick council seeks comments about resolution to vacate sanitary sewer easement

The Kennewick City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. March 5 in the council chambers, 210 W. Sixth Ave.

The hearing is to consider a resolution to vacate a sanitary sewer easement at 1022 Columbia Center Blvd., Kennewick.

Kennewick residents can attend the meeting and comment or submit written comments before the meeting. Send comments to P.O. Box 6108, Kennewick, WA 99336; or email them to clerkinfo@ci.kennewick.wa.us.

  • 1 Benton County race triggers a primary election

    So far, one Benton County race has triggered the need for an August primary election.

    Three candidates are vying for a seat on the Kiona-Benton City School Board. Because three people filed, the primary will be Aug. 6, with the top two vote-getters advancing to the Nov. 5 general election.

    Ivan Howard filed his intent to challenge Charles Gray for Position 2 on the Ki-Be School Board on Monday. Daniel Johnson joined the race Tuesday.

  • Comments on draft study mostly support closing Kennewick's Vista Field

    People on both sides of the Vista Field Airport issue think the answer to what Port of Kennewick commissioners should do is obvious -- although their answers differ widely.

    Those who commented on a recent draft study released in January urged port commissioners to close the small Kennewick general aviation airport for redevelopment and to keep it open.

    Among those who asked the port to close it was Linda Parish of Kennewick.
