Vendor registration is open for Thurston County's annual Spring Secondhand Safari at the fairgrounds in May.

Vendor registration is open for Thurston County's annual Spring Secondhand Safari at the fairgrounds in May.

The event attracts more than 3,000 people who peruse goods from as many as 175 garage sale and education booths, free book and magazine exchange, food and more.

There are outdoor and covered spaces for vendors at this year. Outdoor booths are $25. Covered are $40.

Both booths are about 10 feet by 10 feet.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4. Sellers can set up from noon to 10 p.m. May 3.

    BELLINGHAM - Book lovers and bargain hunters will be out in force Wednesday, May 22, for the opening day of the annual Ski to Sea Book Sale.

    More than 10,000 books will fill the downstairs lecture room of the Bellingham Public Library, 210 Central Ave. Children's books will be in the lower hallway near the elevators.

    Some books come from the library's shelves and many are donations from Village Books, but the majority are from the area's avid reading community, said Doraine Jensen, a member of Friends of the Bellingham Public Library that puts on the sale each year.
