Awarding four stars, Forbes Travel Guide on Tuesday named Tacoma’s Hotel Murano to its 55th annual list of Star Award-winning hospitality establishments.

Hotel Murano this becomes the first hotel in Tacoma to be recognized by Forbes and one of only four in Washington to receive four stars.

The hotel will be showcased with all of the 2013 winners on Startle.com, the online home of Forbes Travel Guide, according to a release today from Murano parent Provenance Hotels.

In honor of the award, guests checking in Tuesday afternoon will be welcomed with a flute of celebratory champagne.

“We are incredibly honored to be the first to bring an award of this caliber home to Tacoma,” said Bashar Wali, Provenance president. “The hotel is beautiful and unique but, in reality, the professional dedication and irrepressible passion we have for providing unbeatable customer service day-in and day-out are what earned this award.”

The other four-star winners in Washington are the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle and Pan Pacific Seattle. No Washington hotel was awarded the ultimate five stars.
