Lynden Christian

Tournament lowdown

This tournament really sets up well for a Lynden Christian repeat, which would be the first in Class 1A since Cascade Christian won back-to-back in 2010-11. Isaac Reimer, a 6-foot-8 forward and reigning 1A state player of the year, leads a balanced group — and just went over 1,500 career points for his career. ... King’s might have the championship pedigree (two titles in 2001-02; two runner-up finishes), but the best bet to advance out of the lower bracket is from the Cedar Park Christian-Seattle Academy quarterfinal. Both are extremely fast and athletic. Cedar Park Christian was the Nisqually 1A champion. Quarterfinals today

Game 1 — Connell (20-4) vs. Castle Rock (24-0), 9 a.m.

Game 2 — Chelan (18-5) vs. Cascade Christian (21-1), 10:30 a.m.

Game 3 — King’s (17-8) vs. Okanogan (19-6), 12:15 p.m.

Game 4 — Lynden Christian (23-3) vs. Brewster (23-1), 2 p.m.

Lynden Christian, Castle Rock

Tournament lowdown

The Rockets of Castle Rock are the only undefeated team in the field of eight and have not one, not two, but three players with 1,000 career points — seniors Maddi Seidl, Macee Utecht and Tierney Uhlenkott. Seidl also has more than 1,000 career rebounds. ... Cascade Christian has a member of the 1,000-point club, too, in 1A Nisqually MVP Kaycee Creech (18.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg). The Cougars only loss this season was to Lynden Christian in the 1A Tri-District title game. ... Brewster’s Chandler Smith is another big-time player at a small school, and is a top recruit for several Pacific-12 programs. She led Brewster to the 2B state title a season ago with 35 points in the championship game.
