In the field: Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley and Tacoma’s Troy Kelly.
Second-round scores: Stanley shot a 1-under-par 69, and Kelly had a 1-over 71.
Positions: Stanley (1-under 139) is tied for 43rd, eight strokes behind leader Luke Guthrie (9-under 131). Kelly (1-over 141) missed the cut by one stroke.
Recap: As he did in the first round, Stanley feasted on the par-5 holes. His drive reached the green at No. 3, and he two-putted from 45 feet for his first birdie. On the finishing hole, he got to the front greenside bunker in two shots, then got up and down for a birdie. … Kelly was done in by a bogey late in his round, at the long par-3 seventh hole. He hit a 5-iron over the green and could not make a 9-foot putt for par. The bogey dropped him to 2 over for the day, although he did birdie the next hole.
Stanley’s tee time today: 6:27 a.m. (PST) with Jason Dufner.
