Michael Lotz’s 3-pointer with 26 seconds to go in the third quarter triggered the Hawks’ knockout run, and the Wesco champions’ breakneck style finally wore down the Panthers to give No. 5 Mountlake Terrace fourth place.

Sixth-ranked Seattle Prep (21-9) got as close as 43-40 on D.J. Fenner’s basket with 3:50 remaining, but Blake Fernandez went on his own personal 7-0 spurt for Mountlake Terrace (23-4) – five coming on free throws to give the Panthers a 50-40 lead.

Fenner, the Metro League player of the year and son of former Seahawks running back Derrick Fenner, fouled out with 1:48 remaining. Bothered by a sore ankle, he scored nine points in his final game, and is now headed to Nevada.
