South Sound residents have three more opportunities to comment on the development of a wilderness stewardship plan at Olympic National Park.
Three public meetings are scheduled for this week at which the public can comment on how the park should manage its wilderness areas.
Of the park’s 922,651 acres, 95 percent has been declared wilderness.
The purpose of the plan, according to superintendent Sarah Creachbaum, is to determine the best uses for each wilderness area while realizing it can’t be every use for every acre.
The next meetings, all from 5-7 p.m., are:
Monday: REI Flagship Store, 222 Yale Ave. N., Seattle
Tuesday: Ridgetop High School, 10600 Hillsboro Drive NW, Silverdale
Wednesday: Shelton Civic Center, 525 W. Cota St., Shelton
