Jamie Vollmer, author of “Schools Cannot Do It Alone: Building Public Support for America’s Public Schools,” will be in Tacoma on Thursday for a public presentation from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Wilson High School auditorium, 1202 N. Orchard St.
Representatives from several out-of-state universities will present an information session on admissions and financial aid at 7:30 p.m. May 8 at Annie Wright School’s Kemper Center, 827 N. Tacoma Ave. It is open to the public.
Voters in the Puyallup and Tacoma school districts have until Tuesday to cast their votes in a special school bond election.
Registration is open for the annual Spring Fever Run to benefit Jason Lee Elementary School.
The event includes a 1-mile and 5K run. Both races will be April 14 at Centennial Meadows, Richland.
Registration is available online at myrichlandchurch.org through Thursday. Those who pre-register receive a free T-shirt.
Fall kindergarten registration for the Peninsula School District will be from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. Parents will register at their neighborhood school; a birth certificate, immunization records and proof of address are needed.
