Richland schools to preview sixth-grade program March 12

The Richland School District is offering a preview of the "Growth and Development" program at 3:30 p.m. March 12 at the Enterprise Middle School library, 5200 Paradise Way, West Richland.

The program is presented to six graders. Girls and boys programs are conducted separately.

    RICHLAND -- Three Rivers Homelink is holding an information meeting for community members interested in the school's programs at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the school, 517 Jadwin Ave., Richland.

    The presentation will provide an overview of Homelink and a special presentation on the school's science, technology, engineering, art and math, or STEAM program.

    Homelink recently received an "Innovative School" award from the Washington State Superintendent.

  • Richland now screening students for highly capable program

    The Richland School District will be screening students for the Highly Capable Program throughout the month.

    The screening is for students in grades 2-5 through the Measures of Academic Progress, or MAP, test.

    Students who meet the 95 percentile in math and reading will have the opportunity to apply for the program.

  • Richland School District plans information night

    RICHLAND -- The Richland School District is holding a districtwide information night.

    All parents and community members are invited.

    The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 23 at Richland High School, 930 Long Ave.

  • Future goals topic of River's Edge event

    Richland's River's Edge High School will have its fourth annual Flying To Your Future event at the Richland Public Library today to help students set their future goals.

    The event is offered through the school's Independent Learning Program, and there will be breakout sessions with community leaders, apprenticeship program representatives, the armed forces and higher education, according to a release from the Richland School District.

    The keynote speaker will be Doug Crandall, a West Point graduate and instructor and former leader at Amazon.com. He is a nationally known speaker on leadership.
