Twenty-five Delta High School students have qualified for a state history competition after placing at a regional event recently.
The students participated in the National History Day competition at Eastern Washington State University by doing projects and performances on a number of history topics.
The following students won awards at the event and will go on to the state competition in Bellevue in May:
Individual Documentaries: First, Emma Hedgpeth of Kennewick, ninth grade; second, Spencer Inman of Kennewick, 10th grade.
Group Documentaries: First, Annabeth Guzman of Pasco and Mallory Kester of Kennewick, 11th grade.
Individual Website: First, Zongchen "Jack" Yang of Kennewick, 10th grade; third, Ammon Neal of Kennewick, 11th grade; fourth, Laura Ness of Richland, 10th grade.
Group Website: First, Krystal Reitan of Kennewick and Stevie-Jean Luke of Pasco, 12th grade; second, Michael Warner of Kennewick, Jonathan Herring of Kennewick and Hunter McCullough of Kennewick, ninth grade.
Individual Exhibits: Second, Katelyn Doyle of Richland, 10th grade; third, Talya Jackson of Pasco, 10th grade.
Group Exhibits: First, Adriana McKinney of Pasco and Rachel McEnderfur of Pasco, ninth grade; second, Najma Adan of Richland and Rachel Rodney of Kennewick, ninth grade; third, Aaron Serrano of Pasco and Ulises Soriano of Pasco, ninth grade; fourth, Briana Carmona of Kennewick and Tramanh Le of Pasco, 10th grade.
Individual Performance: Second, Sarah Adkins of Richland, 10th grade.
Historical Papers: Second, Loni Shugars of Pasco, 11th grade; third, Colton Schirmer of Pasco, 11th grade.
