A 17-year-old boy who shoved a campus security guard and wrestled with a Pierce County sheriff’s deputy was struck with a Taser and arrested Monday, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
The commotion started about 11:15 a.m. at Spanaway Lake High School, 1305 168th St. E.
The teen was leaving campus without permission when a security guard confronted him, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. The teen shoved the security guard to the ground and “started a wrestling match” with the deputy, Troyer said.
The deputy, a school resource officer, warned the teen to stop resisting and shocked him with a Taser when he refused to comply, Troyer said.
After being checked out by paramedics, the boy was arrested. Deputies said they found drug paraphernalia on the teen.
