Bonney Lake High School culinary arts teacher Kahale Ahina was recently selected as the 2013 ProStart Teacher of the Year by the Washington Restaurant Association Education Foundation. He was also nominated for the 2013 National Restaurant Association Educator of the Year, which will be announced in May.
The Bonney Lake and Sumner communities will have an opportunity to taste some succulent food Thursday night, when the Bonney Lake High School advanced culinary arts class presents a three-course meal in partnership with Seattle-based executive chef Russell Lowell.
Four teachers were recognized last week for their commitment to student learning and achievement.
