Kristine Kevorkian, an end-of-life-care specialist, plans to hold her first “death café” in Gig Harbor on April 10.

The event, described as “a relaxed and safe setting to discuss death, drink tea and eat delicious cake,” will take place at 4 p.m. at Panera Bread, 4751 Point Fosdick Drive NW.

Kevorkian proposed teaching an end-of-life issues class at Tacoma Community College, but she was denied her request and said she hopes to spread her message about bereavement and grief issues through the death café instead.
