F eb. 17 — A 9-1-1 caller reported three teenage boys who allegedly were vandalizing windows near 38th Avenue and Hunt Street. The driver fled from police at a high rate of speed after a stop was attempted. The driver lost control and crashed into a tree. A three boys were injured. The driver was cited for felony eluding, second-degree malicious mischief and vehicular assault. All three boys were taken to hospitals to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

    A 13-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were hit by a small car Wednesday night at Swift Boulevard and Thayer Drive in Richland as they crossed the street against the light.

    Both were crossing at 5:45 p.m. as the driver had a green light, said Richland police. The teen was on a scooter and the man was intoxicated with a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit when he tried crossing the street on a bike, said police.

    Neither was seriously hurt. The teen was released to his parents and no citations were issued.
