The Consumer Price Index might not use the price paid by the Tooth Fairy as one of its leading (or even lagging) indicators, but inflation has come to the world of lost baby teeth.

A survey released by Visa shows the Dental Pixie is now leaving an average of $3 per tooth, an increase of 15 percent over the $2.60 left in 2011.
