A 19-year-old Rochester man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center Thursday with serious injuries after rolling his truck near Grand Mound, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers and emergency crews were called to the 19100 block of Old Highway 99 near Crescent Drive Southwest at 9:32 a.m.

Brett A. Tardif was driving a pickup north on the highway when he went off the road to the left, hit a power pole and rolled the truck.

Tardif was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Trooper Guy Gill.

Tardif was listed in stable condition early Thursday afternoon, Gill said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but speed played a factor, Gill said.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
