In case you needed another reminder, Daylight Savings Time starts at 2 a.m. Sunday. For me, it's a welcome thing to have another hour of daylight, because next week high-school spring sports teams will start competing.

And as much fun as a prep football game under the lights is, I enjoy basking the sunshine, watching a baseball game or soccer match. Even if the air hasn't warmed up and my fingers go numb from shooting photos or taking notes.

I've been busy this week at Gig Harbor and Peninsula high schools, and you'll see the fruits of my labors next week as we publish our full boys soccer and track and field previews. For now, here's a primer on those teams, with some basic facts and schedules.
