A pickup truck found engulfed in flames about seven miles east of Tenino on Saturday turned out to be stolen, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

Fire crews and sheriff’s deputies were called to the 17000 block of Johnson Creek Road Southeast early Saturday to find the unoccupied truck.

The pickup belonged to a Tenino woman who had no idea it had been stolen.

“It was apparently stolen from her residence sometime overnight,” said Sgt. Ray Brady.

The pickup was about 100 yards off the roadway in a gravel pit, Brady said.
