The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has released an updated Capitol State Forest recreation map. The previous edition was released in 2002.

The new map has a number of additions, including new trail and forest road names, more precise elevation data and a detailed map of the Middle Waddell, Margaret McKenny and Mima Falls areas. The map also includes tips for being safe while in the forest and a recreation fun guide to get forest visitors started.

You can purchase the map online at tinyurl.com/bsxxcg4 or at the State Department of Enterprise Services, 7580 New Market St. SW, Tumwater. The map also will be available soon at local retailers.

The cost is $9 per map, with discounts if you buy 10 or more.
