OLYMPIA: Daily Franklin Street detour begins today

Franklin Street, between Thurston Avenue and Market Street, will close from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. daily from today until the end of March, while a contractor for LOTT Alliance installs a new water main for the sewage treatment plant.

Franklin Street, between Thurston Avenue and Market Street, will close from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. daily from today until the end of March, while a contractor for LOTT Alliance installs a new water main for the sewage treatment plant.

Franklin Street will reopen at 4 p.m. daily with steel plates on the roadway.

Deliveries to the LOTT facility will be allowed during construction.

Alternative routes will be required during the daily construction. Drivers are asked to follow all detour signage and flaggers’ directions.

    The Public Works Department wishes to inform the public that the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week of April 15-19, 2013, to accommodate construction and repair.

  • Road work: Expect delays as work on Northwest Ave. roundabout continues

    The Bellingham Public Works Department said the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week of May 13-17, to accommodate construction and repair.

    Northwest Avenue at McLeod Road Expect 15-minute delays along Northwest Avenue while traffic is reduced to one lane near McLeod Road. Crews will be pouring concrete and landscaping. Motorists are encouraged to choose an alternate route. Strider Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, continues construction of the roundabout.     C Street at Roeder Avenue C Street at Roeder Avenue is closed temporarily while traffic safety is reviewed. Following deliberations with BNSF railroad, the Mayor, City Attorney and City Engineer, the street was closed Friday, April 19. A public process will be implemented to determine the next steps.
