The Tennessee Titans assigned a second- round tender to restricted free agent center/guard Fernando Velasco, the team announced on Monday.
Velasco started all 16 games for the Titans last season -- lining up at center for 13 games and additionally making three starts at guard. Tennessee originally signed the University of Georgia product as an undrafted free agent back in 2008.
By placing the tender on him, the Titans have the opportunity to match any contract offer he receives from another team. If Tennessee declines to match, it will be compensated with a second-round draft pick from the team that signs him.
