A 22-year-old man was arrested Sunday after holding three friends hostage inside a Tacoma home and threatening them with guns, police said Monday.
One of the victims called 911 about 3 a.m. Dispatchers could hear a conversation that led them to believe somebody was being held against their will. Officers responded to the house in the 5400 block of South 11th Street and knocked on the door, but nobody answered.
The SWAT team was called to the scene. After several attempts to speak with the man, the team entered the home and took him into custody. Three guns were found at the house, which belonged to one of the victims.
The victims told police they met the man two months ago and were hanging out in the house – which doubles as a recording studio – when he began acting strangely, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.
The friends were allegedly on Ecstasy when the man grew paranoid and accused his buddies of setting him up.
