Arbor Day organization seeks nominees for award

The Gig Harbor Peninsula Arbor Day Organization is accepting nominations for its annual Good Stewardship award.

The Gig Harbor Peninsula Arbor Day Organization is accepting nominations for its annual Good Stewardship award.

The award is given to an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to the planting or preservation of trees in the community.

The winner will be presented with an engraved plaque during the Arbor Day celebration, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Gig Harbor Civic Center.

To nominate someone for the award, send a letter or email to the Gig Harbor Peninsula Arbor Day Organization with the person’s name, contact information and an explanation of why they deserve to be honored. Letters can be sent to “Tree Lover Nominee,” c/o Gig Harbor Peninsula Arbor Day Association, P.O. Box 1493, Gig Harbor, WA 98335. Emails can be sent to arbor@gigharborarbor.com.

Nominations must be received by April 6, and self-nominations will be accepted.
