M arch 6 — Medics responded to a 9-1-1 call after a Lakebay woman fell and injured her wrist. She was transported to a hospital for treatment. The engine company remained at the woman’s house to be with her disabled husband, who was confined to bed. Crew members weren’t able to contact the caregiver, and the family members they were able to reach declined to respond and assume care. The crew contacted the caregiver’s employer, who sent another health care worker from Kingston. The engine company returned to available service after almost 3 1/2 hours of standby.
