San Diego State 73, Boise State 64: Jamaal Franklin scored 19 points, Xavier Thames chipped in 18 and Chase Tapley 17 as the fourth-seeded Aztecs’ (22-9) defeated the fifth-seeded Broncos (21-10) in a Mountain West quarterfinal in Vegas. Anthony Drmic led Boise State with 20 points.
No. 19 Syracuse 75, Seton Hall 63: The 12th-seeded Pirates (15-18) started their second-round game of the Big East tournament well against the fifth-seeded Orange, leading by 10 points three times in the first half before settling for a halftime tie. But the Orange (24-8) took control with a 19-2 run in the second half.
No. 24 Notre Dame 69, Rutgers 61: Pat Connaughton scored a season-high 21 points and led an impressive show from 3-point range as the Fighting Irish (24-8) beat the Scarlet Knights (15-16) in the Big East’s second round.
Tom Knight had a career-high 18 points for sixth-seeded Notre Dame, which will face third-seeded and 12th-ranked Marquette in the quarterfinals tonight.
Bucknell 64, Lafayette 56: Mike Muscala scored 20 points to help the Bison (28-5) capture their second NCAA tournament berth in three seasons with a win over the Leopards (19-15) in the Patriot League title game in Lewisburg, Pa.
