The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed cornerback Sean Smith on Friday.

Details of the pact were not released, but David Canter, Smith's agent, confirmed on his Twitter account Thursday that the deal was for three years.

A former second-round pick out of Utah, the 25-year-old Smith leaves the Miami Dolphins after recording two interceptions in each of the past two seasons.

He joins Brandon Flowers and fellow free agent pickup Dunta Robinson to form an impressive trio of corners for new Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, one which hopes to match up with the talented triumvirate of receivers Denver has in Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.

In addition, Kansas City also signed offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz. He's played in 45 games with 19 starts over four NFL seasons for the Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings.
